USA Rhododendron Conference

TRC Collections Officer Andrew Brooker and Dr Hu Ling have recently represented the New Zealand Rhododendron ex-situ Conservation Project team at the American Rhododendron Society’s 2024 Annual Convention in Bellingham, Washington. They were accompanied by Karyn Fitzgerald, who is a member of the Trust. Ling was sponsored by the American Rhododendron Society to attend.

Both Andrew and Ling presented posters at the conference, Andrew’s on “Contributing to global conservation of Rhododendron: The New Zealand ex situ Rhododendron Conservation Project” and Ling summarising her PhD research on Rhododendron subsection Maddenia for conservation.

Andrew will report back on the conference in person at the Members Mid-Winter Lunch in June.
